In Greenstone, readers will get to experience continued adventure with14 year old Emily, the main protagonist, and her bondsmate dog, Xena. For those who may not have read the first two books yet, a bondsmate is an animal that has a sentient relationship with one of the human/elf/mage characters and can communicate thoughts of advice, direction, etc. The characters possess unique magic abilities and are able to read different color auras and know what each one represent, and the most intriguing setting, Acacia, is a parallel world filled with otherworldly magic and time moves differently from time on Earth.

Getting to the nitty gritty of Greenstone, Emily is facing the toughest battle yet when an evil magician named Samil has plans for domination of Earth and Acacia, and his allies are zeroing in on Emily and her friends at every turn. Emily and her group is having to give it all they've got in training and along with Xena, Emily is hoping the young dragon Ammolite, will be strong enough to help them conquer Samil and his army once and for all. Emily gets reunited with her mother, elven Queen Elaina, and her godfather Dr D who are giving all their support and team effort as well.

If you enjoyed Redstone and Bluestone I feel you've got a treat in store for you with the Greenstone installment as well. It is recommended for the 9th to 12th grade reading level so a good choice for young adult reading, with all the best elements of fantasy and folklore intertwined with a well developed story. Plus the characters' practice of familiar martial arts skills such as tai chi, lends to making them relatable too.

As a side note I thought the glossary was very helpful if you're having trouble keeping track of characters, color meanings and the magic abilities described as there are many to take in.

The Ammolite Adventures Greenstone eBook CE Johnson Reviews

C.E. Johnston knows how to please fantasy readers. With characters who move the story through the reader's fantasy, and imagination almost as fast as they can turn the page. The main characters of this story Emily Whayne Dalton a blue magician, along with her four friends Isabelle, Elizabeth, Anna and Luke take on the adventure when traveling through the portal, of finding and rescuing her brother Hadrian and Dysis. Along on the adventure is Dr. Dalton father to both Emily and Hadrian. They will have to battle Samil, Cyril, who are brothers, both evil magician, and the Vampire Queen Maaca, along with Droth a general of Samil’s to find her brother. Emily’s dragon bondsmate Ammolite, and her other bondsmate Xena. The battle takes place in Acacia the project nicknamed Blackdart. This story includes many fantasy creatures including wyverns, goblins, vampires, half deads, ogres, elves, and dragons. I found the story to be an exciting read and look forward to reading more of the Ammolite Adventures. I have rated this one a solid 5 stars.
This series does a great job of continuing to intrigue at every turn. I want to know what's going to happen to the characters and now I have to wait for the next one to come out!

The conflict in this series stays consistent and I'm happy with the outcome this book provides (trying not to give any spoilers), but I'm interested to see how the story will continue in the next novel!

There are so many loose ends to close up and how will these character's story actually end?
